This two day workshop is designed for beginners. We will start by taking the fear out of painting with watercolors. We will then explore color, layering and creating dimension.

Course Description:
Winter 2009

This WSW Theater Intensive provides artists a unique opportunity to explore the professional theater world. A group of three professional actors/teacher come into the class room and work on a production of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. The training begins with a 3 hour Micheal Chekov Improv Workshop. The next day the students will participate in A professional production of A Christmas Carol . Filling in the production with several smaller roles and the vocals with  Christmas carols. This workshops includes all props, 10 period costumes, sound and  lighting plots, posters/ advertising materials and set pieces.

Summer 2010
Course Description:

This WSW Theater Intensive provides artists a unique opportunity to explore the discipline and rigors of acting, movement, voice, play writing, producing and directing. You will learn the basics of acting in a fun, supportive and relaxed environment. This workshop is a complete theater immersion which engages like-minded students in all levels of the theater. Each student will be called upon to collaborate on everything from script work to acting, giving students a well rounded curriculum that will open the door to all the elements of their craft. At the end of the course, the final element will be added: the audience! The final presentation will be a public performance.

 Industrial Design Workshop:    Summer 2010

Course Description: 
This is an unprecedented crash course in product concept development and branding. Students will develop a new product idea and brand, and work together with classmates to develop appropriate concepts. Each student will work, think, sketch and analyze to discover their brand's unique characteristics. The objective is to build a 3 dimensional model of a unique product and its retail packaging concept. The manner in which the product develops depends upon decisions the group makes. Participants will be looking for personality traits they find interesting or attractive and then converting those qualities into marketable products and brands for global markets.
Course Expectations:
Students will be ushered into unfamiliar territory and expected to critique each other's work. You will act as your classmates' company executives, giving sincere and honest feedback. Each student must help the others achieve their highest possible goal. We will work in a competitive but nurturing atmosphere. In this two week course you will create the following:
1) A consumable product concept.
2) A unique brand.
3) A 3D design model (no computers allowed).
4) A Retail packaging concept.

Fashion Eco-Design Workshop:       
    Summer 2010
     
Course Description:

This fashion course will focus on designing, constructing and finishing one to two full outfits. We will talk about the inspiration behind designing clothing and different ways of using recycled elements. Part of the process will be learning how to manipulate and re-invent clothing that we find at second hand stores using  re-designs, recycled elements and textile manipulation. We will also cover how to chose fabrics, construction tricks and basic skills such as setting an invisible zipper and making the perfect buttonhole. We will take a trip to visit a local eco-design house, an eco-boutique and at least one second hand store. Finally, we will produce a fashion show that will be the culmination of everything we have learned.

WINTER 2010
GRAND SNOW SCULPTURE EXPERIENCE

Course Description:
This snow workshop will inspire and navigate students through the comprehensive stages of troubleshooting, constructing, and installing large scale snow sculpture. Each artist will be challenged to overcome common artistic stumbling blocks from conception to  implementation. We will develop and explore our personal symbolic expression.  Participants will dive into the relationship between artist and medium through introspection and group activities

GRAND CLAY SCULPTURE EXPERIENCE 
 Summer 2010
Course Description:

Clay is an ancient artistic bridge between nature and the human experience. This workshop will inspire and navigate students through the comprehensive stages of troubleshooting, constructing, and installing large scale clay sculpture. Each artist will be challenged to overcome common artistic stumbling blocks from conception to implementation. We will develop and explore our personal symbolic expression.  Participants will dive into the relationship between artist and medium through introspection and group activities. Sunset chats will include peer and visiting artist critiques, drum circles and "impromptu happenings". 


 Course cost -(Not including supplies. You will be given a supply list upon enrollment.)
